 Aleksey  Nikiforov  - Head Coach






Aleksey is an internationally distinguished Russian-Lithuanian ice hockey coach with over 37 years of coaching and playing experience. He played professionally for the Dynamo Riga in the Russian Elite League and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the Anatoly Tarasov Elite Level Ice Hockey Coaching School. He has trained two former Suffolk players and NHL first-round draft picks (Mike Komisarek, of Islip Terrace, in 2001; Chris Higgins, of Smithtown, in 2002) as well as longtime professionals Darius Kasparaitis (New York Rangers), Dainus Zubrus (Washington Capitals), Alexei Yashin (New York Islanders) and Bryan McCabe (Florida Panthers). Kasparaitis, Yashin and McCabe spent several days training at The Rinx during the NHL lockout. Nikiforov, who works with players of all ages, says his coaching success isn’t determined by wins and losses, but by how much his students improve as hockey players
 








 Jim  Wright  - Associate Head Coach






Wright has been coaching within the Suffolk organization for 18 years. This season is Jim’s 10th as coach of the Suffolk Junior B team and 6th as General Manager. He has led the team to the USA Hockey Junior B National Champion Tournament births on seven occasions garnering 3 bronze medals. He has received the Norm Walker Award as "Coach of the Year" in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League on two occasions. Jim has coached at East Islip High School and Ward Melville High School where they have won league championships. In addition, he has coached the Long Island Summer Selects and Long Island Ducks select teams. Coach Wright has been selected to coach the prestigious Chicago Showcase team New York as well as Prospect teams. He has also been a coach for the Empire State Games men’s hockey team, receiving two silver medals. Coach Wright is also a member of the selection committee for the USA Hockey New York State Festival teams and National Festival Programs.

 Dan  Marshall  - Special Advisor






Dan Marshall  - Dan is a native of Sault. Ste.  Marie, Ontario has over 23 years of experience in hockey developing  Elite Junior, College, and Pro Athletes. Dan has scouted and coached at  the NHL /AHL levels. From (2001 – 07), Dan served as Director of Player  Development for the New York Islanders and as Head Coach of (NYi)  Islander affiliate Bridgeport Soundtigers (2006-07) in the American  Hockey League. One of Dan’s first projects in the NHL was working with a  young Zdeno Chara (now captain of the Stanley Cup Champion Boston  Bruins and a former Norris Trophy winner). Dan has worked with dozens of  NHL players and has helped prepare and develop each individual player  to succeed in the pro ranks. Prior to the NHL /AHL levels Dan  helped  found the New York Bobcats Junior Program where he was General Manager  and Head  Coach of the 2001 MJHL Champions.Dan also founded Canadian  Elite Hockey in 1992 which is responsible for developing numerous Junior  A and NCAA Athletes and preparing them for pro hockey. Dan has worked  in amatuer scouting and player development in the OHL ,USHL  and in the  NHL.
 Dan’s passion is in developing character athletes to become the best  athlete /person they can be and helping fulfill their dream of making  their passion their career.
